Review Process
The IJEI review process helps the editorial team assess whether a research manuscript is suitable for the journal and whether its findings are communicated clearly. The Interdisciplinary Journal of Excellence and Innovation is multidisciplinary, so authors should make both the subject of the work and its contribution easy to identify.
Review timeline: 3 working days
The journal’s stated review timeline is 3 working days. Authors should distinguish this from a guaranteed acceptance date or a scheduled publication date. A manuscript may require clarification or revision, and the publication steps following a decision are separate from the review itself. For an individual status enquiry, contact the editorial office with your submission ID.
1. Prepare and submit the manuscript
Start with the author guidelines and submission checklist. Provide a complete manuscript, an informative title, an abstract that accurately represents the work and full details of the contributors. Check that references, figures, tables and supplementary material are consistent with the main text. All named authors should agree to the submission.
A clear submission helps an editor understand the research question without needing to reconstruct missing information. Identify the approach used, the evidence supporting your conclusions and any limitations that affect interpretation. If your study connects several disciplines, explain the relevance of each perspective.
2. Initial editorial assessment
An editor assesses the manuscript’s fit with the journal’s aims and scope and checks whether it meets minimum standards of quality. The journal’s existing author guidance allows an editor to decline a paper at this stage if it is unsuitable or does not meet those standards. Authors can reduce avoidable questions by presenting a coherent argument and a complete submission.
3. Peer review and editorial consideration
Manuscripts considered a good fit are sent for peer review before an acceptance or rejection decision. A research paper should give reviewers enough information to understand what was investigated, how the work was carried out and why the conclusions follow from the evidence. Review comments may draw attention to unclear reasoning, missing context, methodological questions or presentation issues.
Authors should read feedback as a set of points to address carefully. A request for changes is not the same as final acceptance. If a comment is unclear, ask the editorial office for clarification and identify the specific point rather than sending a general request to accelerate the process.
4. Responding to revision requests
When revisions are requested, prepare a clear response that matches each comment to the corresponding change. Refer to the relevant section, table or figure in the revised manuscript. If you disagree with a suggestion, explain your reasoning respectfully and support it with evidence. Check that the abstract, results and conclusion remain consistent after editing.
5. Follow your submission
Use your author account to follow the information available for your manuscript and watch for editorial correspondence. Keep the manuscript title and submission ID in all enquiries. Avoid submitting a second copy of the same paper merely to request an update; contact the office about the existing submission instead.
